I now have dual smithy's on my car now but are getting too loud, been on car for 12 years. I would like something quieter but with good sound, bored and stroked to 292 CID but otherwise stock with C-4 auto. Thanks

Stock replacement mufflers for a 55-56 Ford. Mine have been on for 11 years. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Centered holes but 3 tunnel.

I really like Flowmaster HP-2s. Really nice sound without being too loud and not too big either.

25 years ago I had pretty quiet mufflers on my roadster. To remedy that I bought two Smittys mufflers. I changed one and liked that amount of sound so I never installed the second one. Maybe you need to change just one.

  8. Porters have a steel pack so it shouldn't change as they age.

Was employed with Harley Davidson for 18 years. Smaller Harley’s( not full dressers or baggers) had a chrome plated gl***pack(sportsters, dyna) I knocked the baffle out of the muffler and have run several pair on various cars and trucks/think they were 2 in diameter and relatively short and smaller than most others. I bought a pair of stock mufflers on ebay that were for a Ford ****** or something. Not much bigger than most Turbo mufflers. 2" in and out. Put 'em on my A-V8 when I built it. Nice deep mellow sound at part throttle but sounds pretty mean when you open it up. Nice sound and not too loud. I love them.
