not really relating to hot rods but i work for BMW as a tech, and i had a 2000 740Li that whenever you fliped down the visor and opened up the cover for the mirror the steering wheel would tilt down. turns out the ignition switch was bad and caused a backfeed of power from the lights in the visor to the steering column.

plenty more to go with that but thats just off the top of my head.

When I first got my 61 Olds it had not been used regularly for 25 years and it smoked real bad when running, enough to fill my garage if I let it run for 10 minutes. I had pretty much figured I would have to rebuild the motor, but I decided to make it road worthy and drive it to see if the smoke would clear up. The master cylinder had been losing fluid and sometimes the pedal would stick with the brakes engaged so the first thing I did was remove it to rebuild it so I could have brakes that worked. After honing it I found pits in the bore that were too deep so I replaced it with a rebuilt. Shortly after replacing the master the motor stopped smoking and still doesn't. It turns out because of the pits in the master the vacuum on the power booster was ****ing the brake fluid through the booster and into the intake and burning it with the fuel.
