Anybody ever take one of these babies apart? Mine works (2-speed, 3 wires), but the insulation is all frayed. I'm ***uming you have to remove the "squirrel cage" to get the motor housing off, but, shouldn't it just be a simple job to solder in new wires?
    Please advise.

Shrink wrap the old wires. Put on two layers if you want extra protection.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm ***uming that I would have to cut all three wires to "shrink wrap" them? The shrink wrap is some sort of tubing, correct?

Yes - tubing - sorry, used the wrong word (wrap) should be shrink tubing.
