Does anyone out there know of any doaner vehicle that has factory discs that will bolt up to a '55 Buick? I thought maybe the wheel bearings would lend a clue and that maybe they were the same on a chevy, but no such luck. If you know of anything that uses a Timken B-62 wheel bearing, let me know and I'll give it a go. Thanks for the help. - Larry

Check with the guys at Scarebird.com, they make brackets to bolt up later model discs to your Buick. I'm unsure of the donor vehicles for the discs and calipers.

Will probably be talking to them myself in the future for my 55 Special.

fatman's says you have to get your spindle machined to get rid of the roller bearings and go to a taper bearing like an early 70's impala uses. The 56 I saw on the power tour utilized a 1/2" steel plate to bolt up the caliper. Seems like it was towards the front to clear other things. He said it worked fine. Do those old brakes look better now?

There was a great discussion on the Nailhead list a while back about such things. Master Power is overpriced. Not a fan of Fatman's stuff. But the http://scarebird.com/ stuff is affordable and works well. Their Riviera deal is, well, the deal... Check them out. Call them or email them, they'll actually talk to you and give you the low down on what's going on. There really isn't just a "bolt-on: deal. But some are easier than others....
