I would have thought you would have changed over to the short water pump so fit would be easier.
You can mount a alternator to a short pump.

 

If you need a slip yoke I have an extra. Some of the long pumps have both sets of holes so you can use either pulley and fan.

 

Just a thought, but @Johnny Gee posted a want ad for some 3 on the tree linkage, not sure if what you pulled out will work or not, I'm just the matchmaker

 

That engine has a long water pump you can use all the old front stuff off the 283 it will bolt right on the new motor they do make a clutch fan blade that will fit in the stock shroud and you would be better off goin that route those stock fans never really work that great you made good progress today and we all have things go sideways but I think your obstacles are easy to overcome keep up the good work

 

Do you have a part number for the fan?

 

With the size and muscles on that boy, you probably won't even need a cherry picker

 

Got a few things accomplished today before the rain set in. If it stops raining I will get back outside and get after it.

We did run into a problem though. The driveshaft needs to be cut down 5.75 inches. I will contact someone about it Monday

 

I used Chattanooga driveline for my drive shafts. 75.00 to shorten a steel one or 100 for aluminum.

 

Mine was 263
They had to replace 2 of the 3 universal joints and balance it.

 

Back home from the family vacation. Time to get back after it.

 

Well I got some stuff done today but ran into a few setbacks. I will address them tomorrow.

Got the wagon running today. I have to get the transmission linkage on tomorrow. I also need to get the carb adjusted, get the fluids topped off, and figure out why the brake lights aren’t working.

Well we are heading out to Bowling Green tomorrow morning. We got the wagon running but we have problems.
It sounds good and moves under it's own power. The problem is that it isn't charging. The next problem is it isn't charging and we have no lights.

Time to shift gears and pack the OT truck and get ready to tent camp for the next 4 days. I will be posting pics here and probably some video on YouTube. There is a link to my channel in my signature.
