I’m now the proud caretaker of a beautiful Model T. It came up for sale locally, I drove it home yesterday and the ride was perfect. It was a Street Rodder build by Jerry Dixey back in 2011. The only issues it has at the moment is the blinkers and the original sign writing on the doors came off when I removed the vinyl signs the previous owner had put on it for a wedding so I need to find a local sign writer to repair the lettering that lifted. I drove it back the 30 mile. First car I’ve purchased that is not a project.
That is a great little roadster. I have a soft spot for Model T's. I have a '27 roadster and a '26 T coupe myself. I'd lose the sign on the door.
It’s a strange feeling. I wasn’t even looking for a T. I was looking for another big Cadillac or Buick. Then this came up locally and is a very well built car. Soon as I saw it I wanted it.
another option for the door might be to just apply vinyl over it in similar to body color and cover the door graphics. that's the easy and cheap way out.
Yeah. I was the same way. I was looking for an A coupe. Ran across a pic of a '26 T coupe on Craigslist. Thought it was pretty cool. (It was a rusty hulk.) I showed the pic to my wife. She said, "That's cuter than dammit". It was in my shop 2 days later.
So far I’ve driven it a couple of hundred miles to local meets and a local show. It’s a lot of fun to drive, gets thumbs up everywhere and kids want their pictures taken with it.
Other than fixing the graphics/ paint the doors, no graphics, that is a good looking roadster. And throw in a Buick 215 V8, very cool . You didn’t want a Cadillac anyway .
