Hot Rods Mystery Valve Cover

Good morning fellow HAMBer's. I'm in need of some expert opinion. Yesterday I was given an old, heavy cast aluminum (seems too heavy to be magnesium) valve cover with ZERO markings and little evidence of what it may fit. Oddly enough it has 5 center bolt holes and what appears to be a surface for some sort of vent. With the extensive knowledge here, I was hoping to identify this. I have searched for hours and found nothing remotely close. Thanks in advance.

 

Approximate dimensions?

 

The cover measures 18" x 4" x 3" tall.

 

So it's likely for either a 4 cylinder or a V8. Might be off some ferrin car? since there's only one cover.

 

Or, something industral...forklift? etc

 

I was thinking tractor of some sort.....

 

Definitely from a manufacturer that didn't believe in valve cover gasket leaks. I wonder how many bolts hold on the matching oil pan? Sorry choppedtudor you asked for extensive knowledge not extensive smartass. Lol.

Mystery SOLVED! It seems my "rocker cover" belongs to a 1949 Healey Silverstone

 

More likely from a Riley (which is where that engine came from), since yours isn't polished
