The way Rot n'customs has it is a better balance. The curvature (as shown) compliments the curvature of the main grille while the outer edges create a border.

 

A couple variations...

 

I wonder what this coupe would look like with a mild chop, no fenders, model a wires, and only the hood top? Kinda gow job.

 

One more idea: 1939 Studebaker style, scaled to to fit.

Here's a little T and A for you. Went with a different combination of photos, easier to work with.

Leon, keep in mind it's on a Model A frame, dropped axles and reversed eyed springs, lowered in the back.

 

I've already got a T frame with custom crossmembers, and similar spring set up, front axle is stock 34, rear is 33 ford. And yes, I have a bevy of A wheels. It might make only 30 hp or so, but it'll be a fun one...

 

Can someone throw some chrome steelies and wide white walls on this. Also some chrome steelies with pinner whites. Only side profile pic I can find of it.
I'm so mixed on wheels for it. I love chrome steelies but I'm a sucker for full wheel covers.

I only do Paint chops. They're very choppy. I want to build a car with the aerodynamics of the BOcruiser with traits of the Phantom Corsair.

Unfortunately I like them both. Kind of lean towards the pinner whites. Think the pinner whites would look better with a slight rake to the car. And the wide whites look good with the car leveled out.

 

Haha. I am in Southern California and we all know how bad crime is here.
Yeah I'm mixed on both of them. I like them both.

Studebaker had a model called the "Daytona" long before Dodge applied that moniker to their homologated racing cars. I wonder what this '64 Studebaker Daytona would look like with the nose, fender vents, tail, and quarter graphics of the '69 Dodge Charger Daytona. Any takers? Hopefully you can work with the slightly different angles of these photos.

 

Well I have to say it would be an eye catcher. I think the only way to make it close to working would be to give it a slight chop and lower it as pictured here...

 

I'm sure everyone is aware of how dead this place is. It used to be active with James D., Moose and myself trying to one up each other. It was fun.
I know we all get bored with the same requests over and over again , it does help those who need it but it rarely gives us a chance to play.
So... I'm suggesting that we make voluntary postings of something we'd like to see... a "What if?" so to speak. It would give each of us a chance to show our thinking and skills and hopefully inspire others.

And, since I've opened my big mouth, here's my "What if?"
There's a gentleman who's been building road racing inspired versions of numerous cars, all black. The Gambit has covered 7 cars from a 1963 Ford Falcon to a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere. Taking a page from him, What If you took an older car like a 1949/1950 Ford and made it into a vintage road racer.
You could put in a roll bar, seat belts, and an all new suspension or retro fit a newer suspension.
Lower the damn thing, add wide wheels, flares and soft rubber tires. It could be powered by the engine of your choice and backed by a 4/5 speed. All would have been done by the rules books in order to road race or gymkhanas.

Here's my "What if" 1949 Ford Redneck Road Racer.
