Probably flipped over and not hooked up. Look to me like the body is just sitting on a late model chassis

It looks like the original chassis, look at the center crossmember.

When I was looking at it I thought the rear end looked modern, but I know zero about Mercs.

Maybe that steering column is from a RHD vehicle??
That is the setup we had for older (1950s - 60s) right hand drive vehicles here in New Zealand, shift gears with the left hand, turn signal on the right..
Would have been the same in Australia and Britian as well.

  8. IIRC, it was called the "Necker" shift so that you could get your date closer to you and still be able to shift.

Pull-a-part Montgomery Alabama. Sadly, this will be its last stop. They won't sell as a whole. 20230605_095854.jpg 20230605_095909.jpg

  12. Someone grab that tailgate. Those were hard to find that straight even back in the 80's. The rear bumper looks like a factory non step bumper. That's another rare item if it's straight. Grab the bumper brackets from it too.

Anyone interested in this Keller , look up junkyard dave on you tube. He usually does newer offtopic vehicles but he is the one that plans to rebuild this Keller. Supposedly this was the display model they drove cross country for advertising this new company back then.

that Keller in post 20251 isn't sitting anymore. It is almost torn down to the bare frame already, just needs to figure out how to remove the clutch and brake pedals and it is a bare frame then.
