Thanks for the memories Dawn! The same company must have done the "Sunday" adds for every drag strip. They sounded just like that for Green Valley Raceway here in Texas.
Sent this to my dad...had a good laugh. This was the year before I was born on my home track. My parents remember your dad in your mom's T! Something about smoking a cigarette with the front wheels doing some air time! There is a pic somewhere floating around on the HAMB. We have some mutual friends, Jacin B., Jerry "TUT" Tuttle and Henry and Brian Korelic. I met you a few years back at Thompson....you borrowed my cel phone to call your Dad about the new track record...that was a helluva run!
Curly, The '23 T was built and owned by my dad, and yes, I recall the post with above mentioned pic. Dawn
Being from Elyria/Grafton, Ohio that rattled my memories, I spent a lot of time there and at Dragway 42 in West Salem. Thanks for the memories!
That's a great clip. Thanks, Dawn. Wow, 6T5Frln, god how I miss Raaaaacewaaaaayyyyy Park!!!! Followed by the cut back to Cousin Brucie.....it was the culture us kids had, sittin in deep rural NJ with a tube-type shortwave set on the broadcast band. I need another beer.
