Hey, I heard that there may be fitment problems with the 1940 Ford Deluxe grill reproduction from Vintique. Anyone out there have any words of wisdom for me before I lay out the ca$h? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear there may be problems fitting the new ‘40 grill. I purchased a new Vintique grill a year ago, it’s beautiful in every detail however; I have not yet installed as I’m working my project from back to front therefore fitting a grill will be one of my last tasks.

"40 Ford front sheetmetal, hoods, grill etc. can be a real pain to get right. It might not be the Vintique grill at all, but some missing or damaged braces, hood latch and on and on. There's a lot that affect grill fit.

Yeah, I hope it's just a matter of getting all the pieces up front in the right places. Thanks

On another thread someone said to make the hood fit first then make everything else line up with the hood

...All of those little parts and pieces, brackets and braces are important and often get lost or damaged over the years. Good luck. It can be a real chore. FB_IMG_1634048841138.jpg

I would stick with Drake. Tried a Vintique many yrs ago--didn't fit quite right, they may be better now. There weren't any Drakes at the time so we had 2 nice orig ones rechromed-used the last one about 2 yrs ago.
