Thanks guys! Means alot! Drives my wife crazy! Thinks the Doll os. Her rival! (Better work on that) Happy Wife…happy life…
Ford flathead question… What are these round holes on the bottom for? the way the waterpump is designed it is just blocking them off? Or is it like a clean out hole? Or for the cast pouring? When it was built. Don’t make sense to me? At first I thought I had the wrong gaskets
Part 2 Way more balls than the 47 Ford! And sounds cooler!! That annoying rattling is the phone against the windshield. I had it wedged in between the crank out.
I already got it torn back apart. fixing the leaks before I put the fenders on! Mostly have it back together how it was! And I painted the pulley black and put a silver mark on it, so I can see it now, instead of getting blinded by the Polished look! Seems like this baby just runs perfect with it set at zero…and one and a half turns on the carburetor mixer screws
At least I put the seat in, my Pops used to use milk crates! With me standing at 3-4 years old holding on to the edge of the dash with the windshield cranked out!
Here’s the full video if you can stand sitting through it with all that rattling of the phone on the windshield and me for getting that it’s a non-Synkro first gear!!!
Uh-Oh!…. Got to play around with my YouTube video editing!!! This video is is combining some shorts my crazy antics! Just to show you what kind of personality I have! If you grew up in the 80s, especially Southern California, you will get some of my “incarnations”???
So…I went to our local car show here in Lincoln! We’ve lived here since 1999 and I’ve never been to it! Because it’s the Sun City retired group.. I just figured they were all a bunch of rich gray hairs from the bay area! that had their cars built. Yes there’s some Billet Rods but that’s OK. They do a lot for our city and charities and stuff. but it was actually pretty cool, a lifelong friend of my father and I was there with his 37 (He Built in his yard himself) that I actually rode in when he was building it back in 73- 1974-ish! I remember riding in the backseat three or four years old and interior wasn’t quite done funny how you remember little things like that! I can’t remember anything else hardly!!! So…my wife and I were looking through his build album, and I found a few pictures of my uncles 34 and the 33 doll! Cool!! I will be entering next year hopefully next to his 37!!!
Got the 33 insured the other day! Going To get it off Non-op, and register it tomorrow! Wish me luck! The CalNazis Don’t ask for any more paperwork! Ive done everything they asked me over the last 3 years!!! Things are happening! dropping my wife and Niece off at the airport Tuesday morning and I took a whole week off so I’m gonna work on it straight for nine days and try to get this thing roadworthy and legal like!!! Still some body work and some assembly required! GETTING EXCITED!!!!
LEGAL -EAGLE BABY!!! so……Stoked!!! Couple more weeks and it should be Mostly done, Road worthy!!! (I know I’m a big old Goober!)
You are right about that! Still cost me $303 to get out of there even though I paid all my transfer fees and everything two years ago! But I don’t care it’s all legal now technically, I could just drive it but you know I don’t have lights or turn signals cops might not like that! Although around here, I know most of them! They would be like, now, Rick it’s cool, but you need to get some lights on this thing and doors! It’s not a Jeep!! Ha!
Getting her Dialed in, slowly coming together! I have a week alone to work on it every day, so I’m on vacation also get this sucker together! This was last night.
This always happens to me… I lay all the pieces out to see what I have. Then I get a sudden overwhelming sensation. I don’t know… Do you think I can bust it out in a week? That means sanding fixing dents, a few welds on the Fenders and Doors, and then assembly and paint a bunch of the small parts. I know I can paint the small parts work on the Fenders go back and forth as the paint dries. I guess I’m just tired, feeling overwhelmed at the moment. That and the front oil seal leaks more than I like. Do you think it’ll swell up as a run it more? I noticed a little lifter tick too now, not too bad but it wasn’t there until now, as I was using the timing, light adjusting the throttle and carburetor.
I decided since my Fenders and Doors look like a dapple dachshund!!! I’m just gonna sand them smooth as possible, prime them… wet sand them once…and paint them Black. What I’ll do is take the Fenders, when I get some money off The car and have them blasted, and the bodywork and primer done. and then I’ll just paint them again black myself… then the doors, a little bit at a time. At least the car will be together that way. Di d I tell you guys that I actually hate hate hate hate hate, hate bodywork…..the sanding….the priming ….sanding….priming I just can’t take that! I don’t know how those Latino boys do that bodywork bondo stuff all day long every day!!! I would literally stick a gun to my head! Give me metal I’ll fix it! Give me detail work on smaller things. No problem The top the wood… all that was fun. bodywork yuck. Yuck. Yuck!!!! again yuck! “ Rant done!!” Lol!
Been driving my '34 around for 8 years. No turn signals. Don't need 'em. Didn't have them in '34, don't need them now. Lights I've always had, but they didn't work until about 3 years ago, but then I don't drive it at night, so no issue there. LE in my area is pretty relaxed about stuff like that. They have bigger fish to fry.
I’m multitasking it’s wearing me out! Stripping paint on one fender, priming, and filling the other fender, painting, the inner fenders and welding stuff in between! And women say men can’t multitask!!! (it’s only when they’re out of town that we can do that that’s why they don’t see) lol!
Here too, especially my small town of Lincoln I know the police chief in half the cops they go to my church!!!
I’m sure you guys are sick of a play-by-play! But, oh well! This is how far I got today! I might just make it before the Mrs. gets back!!! She’s gonna kill me I got paint all over the driveway from stripping the other fender.
Tip! Paint stuff on the lawn and mow it before she gets home. All evidence disappears in the grass clippings.
That’s funny! I actually tried that once and it took a month for it to all go away. It was black, even though I cut it lol. My neighbor has a pressure washer. I think I put a little Jasco on those spots and then blast it on Thursday before she comes home. Good thing is I don’t have to pick her up until 11:30 that night so I have all day to clean the house. Hahaha! I haven’t made the bed change the sheets, checked the mail, watered the plants. I barely feed the dogs! I rolled up all the carpets, so they can’t pee on the carpets. I’m bad!
Play-by-play for those who care lol!!! Mainly, I do it for documentation also. Today’s goal: Strip the rear fenders. Sand and weld and straighten the front Fender. Weld cracks And hopefully paint Under coat the running boards
