    I have never seen a 35 y model. And for $1500 with a title. What a deal. IMG_20230617_104754.jpg IMG_20230617_104627.jpg IMG_20230617_104819.jpg

You kids have all the fun at GOOD swap meets in LA! Nothing, absolutely, NOTHING, like this in the mid west!!! Great photos of great cars and great parts. Thanks for sharing these photos.
I really like the 1928-1929 Ford Pickup truck that is gray and black primered. Any info on that one?

  17. That 38 Ford Phaeton was my brothers in our booth. It amazingly finally sold for 32K. So many doubters out there said it was way too high priced. It only takes one guy with deep pockets. My biggest complaint is not enough buyers actually buying stuff. The sellers were there. No big numbers of folks buying. This hobby is slowing down. If you have ever wanted to attend this swapmeet I would plan on it and bring all your hotrod buddies. Before it dies. I did have fun though. I get tired of the LA Roadster guys saying it was sold out for spaces. There were tons of empty spots all around.

  18. Thank you Gary for taking the time to share all the great photo's,so many cars & trucks that knock my socks off! HRP

That beautiful Topolino was powered by a Chevy 327, very well engineered to make everything fit. The finish was beautiful. I was told it is an Orange County car, but no name or contact info. Not for sale.

Yeah, there were a lot of walkers/talkers. Would of liked to have seen a lot more buyers. I was also surprised, there was a lot of empty spots. -- Weather was good, great break from the AZ heat. Had a great time met some great folks. Sold some things, bought some things and took some things back home.

  21. Hopefully it will keep going, I bought some stuff but I'm down to needing small things only or the stuff I was looking for wasn't there. Sad part to me was the sellers packing up as early as 9:30 on Saturday and lots being gone by noon....so there's a problem on both sides.

I know it was $85 for a spot, the time/fuel to get there, dealing with people and the heat. But, I paid $40 to get in (sometimes $80 to go 2 days), paid gas to get there and sometimes walk the swap meet 2-3 times in case I missed something. The point being they paid the $85 for the spot, just stay until the end.

Thanks for the info, it peaked my interest as I have a complete one, and a 215 Buick to do for myself.

I would also like to see more of the Topolino. I have a nice original ‘37 in my shop, belongs to a client, it’s here for a mechanical rebuild. ( not for sale, he wants to keep it original)

I believe the guy that bought that car is the owner of the event center where they held a Father's Day car show today and I played music for the event with my partner. I was talking to the owner and he told me he bought a maroon 39 Phaeton yesterday at the show, how many of them could there be there? It had to be this one. You should see the collection this guy has, it's unbelievable. Deep pockets? Yeah, you could say that. He knows cars, he knows the value, he knows what's collectible, he knows how many there are out there. That car will be completely rebuilt, it will be museum quality when it's done. Check it out, scroll through the photos, there's a small glimpse of the cars he owns: https://highway39.com/

If you need any running gear parts, I am only keeping the sheet metal on mine.

I had a few customers that came into my spot and asked how much parts were. When I told them whatever you will give me for it they still hemmed and jawed and put the part down and said thanks. What the heck? But about half of them gave me more than I would have said the price was so I guess it worked out

  29. Does anyone know what these are?

The Wikipedia page says they came with an 8 hp engine.

  30. I see a couple of seven-digit license plates painted yellow and black.
