Hot Rods flathead ford intake i.d. needed

  1. so i found this in a barn....a real barn
    its a 2 piece manifold where the carb surface unbolts
    the only casting marks are the number 17297 on the top and 17298 on the bottom
    any help would be appreciated

    The flathead intake manifold you have was made by Anderson Industries from Indiana. There were three different tops made, a four barrel (the one that you have)a 3X2 top and a 2X2 top. When you bolted the base to the flathead engine any one of the three tops could be unbolted or bolted on to the flathead engine without ever touching the base. I would think this setup would run quite well.
