Because I know him personally, he's a helluva nice guy, and yea he's a little intense on the show, so what!.....How many cars have you ran for the "pink slip"?... It's TV you dillrod!...even reality TV is acting...He worked hard to develop that show, by himself and got it picked up by Speed Channel (which is no easy task)..did 6 shows as a test and got it picked up...With overwhelming response from viewers...Apparently the population at large doesn't share your opinion...and this isn't even about your opinion, your entitled to that, (no matter how uninformed) it's about your lack of information or knowledgs....It's called "ignorance" look it up... Where do all thes piss poor attitude FNGs come from? This forum isn't here for bashing, but if you'd care to say it to his face... I'm sure he'd be glad to knock you on your ass! that show is kinda stupid. There was this guy with perogi tits on there who i thought was pretty annoying.
I went to the pinks in Arizona with the Astro van and to pinks all out at Texas Motorplex. I had fun at both events. I didn't care for it to much until I was involved. I agree some episodes are weak, but can't be too picky finding people to run for titles. I am happy to see anything on the tube showing some rides. Well except of that Unique Dips crap.
The cool thing about TV is that you can change the channel if you don't dig what's on. I've made it 55 years so far without ever watching a single episode Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Desperate Housewives and a bunch of other crap by hitting the "Change Channel" button on my remote.. Personally, I'm not into drag racing except for nostalgia cars, fucking HATE the delay box, electronically controlled modern bracket car shit but I honestly enjoy "Pinks". In my opinion the whole deal is good entertainment. Rich is definitely a "character", the slam talking bullshit between the negotiators and the sandbaggin' adds to the fun factor and the hangdawg look on the faces of the losers is priceless. Look at it like this.... If you really hate "Pinks", you can stay up and watch the Bulgarian Grand Prix along with the other 10 viewers on SPEED at 4AM......
I am watching some show on speed right now where they chain a bunch of cars together and the front car pulls them around the track Then they had a rollover contest. now THAT is entertainment!
I for one have never been a huge fan of the show. If TIVO picks it up I'll see what cars are on and fast forward through it to the last race. However, I just got home from Pac Raceway and after being there, listening to the negotiations, side conversations, etc., I have a new found respect for the show and Rich. Comments made tonight he really wants cars that are on the same level to do heads up, "run whatcha brung" racing. Got to give the guy credit for that! Now I'd like to see an episode with some vintage tin running down the track!
I like the way you think....ummm...I did watch Siefeld acouple times...oh well...point being the guys who never worked swing before the advent of cable wouldn't know how cool it is to be able to turn on the tube and see something so cool as two guys putting something on the line to race... It use to be three channels and maybe UHF...you guys have choices, if you don't like em, change the channel...PINKS IS COOL, don't like it, don't watch.
I paid my $10 and had a good time. I'm not a fan of the show however I have never seen a T.V. show filmed and never seen anyone run for "pinks". The guys at work call the show "stinks" but they were going to watch it anyway. There was a great turn out as far as spectators so it has something going for it. Fred

I would love to see the host build a car with his own bread. Then race for pink slips now that would be good tv. I do watch the show Its not bad.
