Being a trim carpenter by trade I’ve always had it in the back of my head to build a woodie. I already have three running driving cars and a father/son build going at the moment. My wife has an o.t. Car and very soon will get her late fathers 55 Chevy hard top. I’m running out of room so I really need to sell some thing to free up space. To me it’s all about the build, I’m not one to come home and sit on my duff so I go out to the shop and build. I used to build model cars maybe I should take that hobby back on, it’s a lot cheaper and takes up less room!

I’m on the fence right now. I still need to finish the Lincoln with a little bodywork and new paint, but I’ve been looking around a bit. I’m looking a bit later , around 66-67 Fairlane, maybe a Same year Nova if I could find one cheap enough. Really would rather find a driver and put my touch on it, but prices are everywhere.
I’ve got a way OT 82 F100 that belonged to my late son, but it’s going to have to be a frame off, ground up build because it needs everything. Don’t know if I have that in me anymore.

And the thoughts of a bare bones, fender less 27 T roadster pops in my head sometimes. Simple frame, painted suspension, use the 350 Chevy and Turbo 350 ( after I get the trans rebuilt), maybe flat black with some large rear tires on slots. But again, don’t know if I have it in me to do another full build.

I've abandoned all thoughts of my next project - which I have all the parts for, ch***is, drivetrain and some body parts. But, this sloper custom is taking forever and I just can't face another build. Finish the custom and that's it. Sell everything else off.

When my Vicky's done I'd love to build an AD in the proportions of the Dream Truck. Just before they added all the stupid **** all over it. Just lower it, section, chop and hood pancake. SBC and a good drivetrain. Ultimate pickup!

I am about burned out on building lately. Health problems make it so much harder to get motivated. But I would like to find a C1 Corvette project before I croak. Not really wanting to start from scratch anymore, just one that needs finishing, and close by, I got burned twice on buying something I didn't put my hands on first.
I have had two of them in the past and really regret selling them. But like you, I really don't have the room unless I got rid of something first.

I don't have the room for another car and I'm not willing to sell any that I have but....
I'd like to have a gray primer Willys coupe done up in the style of the "Hot Rod" Willys
I'd like to have a Project X clone like in Holywood Knights, I have a complete blower setup ready to go
I'd like to have a primer spotted C2 vette coupe just like Dennis Hoppers in King of the Mountain
I'd like to have a California Kid clone of a 34 Ford
I'd like to have a 38 chevy coupe g***er style
I do like to day dream

  8. Really,,,,,at this point in my life,,,,I would almost settle for anything .
    I always wanted an old hot rod,,,,,maybe a 33 or 34,,,,,,anything,,,,,lol .

I already have a nice 291 Desoto Hemi that I will finish someday,,,,with a 4/71 blower ,,and a very nice 49 Merc Flathead engine that I was beginning to finish up .
The flat head just needs to be bored and it is pretty well finished.

Life got in the way a couple years ago,,,with Cancer,,,,I’m healthy now,,,,,but almost broke ,,,,,lol .

Now life has stepped in again,,,,,my wife of almost 34 years has decided to leave me !
I don’t have much anyway,,,,,but it will take almost everything I have to buy her out of the house,,,,,lol ,,,and it’s not a big house .
    Lol,,,,,the house that I paid for !

I put LoL because you have to laugh,,,,it hurts too bad to cry,,,,lol .
The worst part was the feeling of betrayal,,,,but I’m good .

    I’m a damn man,,,,,and I’m gonna be just fine,,,,,broke,,,but just fine !
    So,,,,,,don’t cry for me,,,,,,I’m not !

The feeling I get on here sometimes is that people feel sorry for themselves because they are just worn out,,,,, from all the building and selling of hot rods they do .

Go sit in a corner and cry !
It could be a whole lot worse !

Where is John Wayne when we need him !

  11. Same as @swade41 a 41 primer grey Willy’s with a 426 hemi out of an amc just like the movie :D

my other bucket list car would be a spin on a “copo “ 55 Chevy 150 or 210

454 or 427 big block 4 speed and a posi all done to mimic or try to copy what a big block 4sp drive train would of looked like in 55
    All black
Wide steel wheels with poverty caps
    Duel exhaust
Stock interior with a tach .

Mmmmmmm, a man can dream can’t he :D

DeSoto, my wife leaving was one of the best things to happen to me. Not at first, it hurt, but in the long run it turned out better for me. It cost me my 1959 Corvette, but it coulda been worse.....she coulda stayed!

    This one is on deck.

Might sneak something in between the two, but don't know what that might be yet.

This '55 Bel Air is the "now" project. Next is my one year off topic Olds. Wife might not tolerate too many more! 20230226_134657.jpg

If the right old Ford truck or a '54 ford coupe would come along at a reasonable price, if not just keeping up my old beater and Brenda's wagon will keep me busy. HRP

I have two cars in progress, two more that run but need paint. And there is the good flathead (rebuildable) that needs to be in a model a that I don’t have. Just maybe I finish some before I get more.

Just finished a chopped deuce highboy sedan, traded another deuce sedan project for running driving deuce pickup and have been stumbling along on another Flathead powered deuce highboy roadster which I may never finish?

I just want to finish the three in progress. I think the only future building I do will be storage. I am cured from the I have to do it all phase. Any future buys will be built on someone else's time..Less expensive that way.
