I'll be there for sure. I'll be driving my yellow '52 F1 with Gilmore Oil logos on the door. Rattle Can Nats, CHRR, then El Mirage. YEE HAW! I'm totally stoked!

Some of us Phoenix mooks are having a little piss up at the Motel 6 north airport (near Olive ave and hwy 99) on Friday night. All of you HAMB goons are welcome to stop by and have a beer with us. We'll probably be out back in the parking lot where they park the trucks (keeps "the man" off our backs).

 

The growler and I will be hanging around the grove with Mousie and the new old Winged Express , alas, time has run out for Mike to get it nitro worthy but it will be there just the same . Be sure to drop by and water Willie's tree , just behind the stands at the entrance to the grove .

 

We are going, and will have a vendor booth. We are doing a new t-shirt design For Chris "The Greek" Karamisenes.

 

I'll be in there in this at first to pick up this. Woodie is done now and is my brothers. The rpu is mine. Should be a great weekend if I can stay out of trouble.(Ya right!)

 

In case anyone is racing , reports are the new surface is smooth and interdigitated (much bite) !

 

My wife and I are going. We'll be driving a red/white primered 1959 Ford Ranchero that I bought and will actually pick up that Friday morning in Bakersfield. Next year,,,hopefully,,,'ll have the re-creation of my old AA Fuel Coupe up and running. If so, I'll definetely have it there. I will be at the awards deal also. I have to deliver a fuel pump drive to TV Tommy Ivo for his latest car he's working on.

There will be more Brits there than you can wave a ****ty stick at, and not many of them have replied to this thread either. There's 8 of us in our party at the La Quinta for a start. Paula and I will be fresh from getting hitched in Vegas too, be nice to meet some more HAMB members.

I cried three times when I was there,
1st time was after SUEDESLED hurt my feeling yelling at me and scaring me at the entry gate for the vendors. And 2nd was when Linda Vaugn called me sweetie and grabbed my bottom.
And 3rd when I rode with my friends in a push car for Wayne Kings Top Fueler.
What a time,also the party at Bell's is a must for FUN!

The Rattle Can Nats is a low key deal that the folks form Hop Up throw at Harris Ranch, near Coalinga, about 90 mile northwest of Bakersfield (intersection of I-5 and Hwy 198). The gig happens Thurs. night (9/5) and Fri. morning (9/6). It's always good fun.

As this thread was started two years ago in anticipation of CHRR 2004, there will be no corrosponding meet at El Mirage this year.

 

I'm coming from Dallas, Tx. with my old school Junior Fuel car. Going to try and run with the big dogs on the left coast. Main goal is to just qualify in the 8-car feild. Wish me luck. Hambers come by the trailer and get a free "Sachse Rod Shop" catalog while your there.

I am going to miss out this year. I am best man at my buddies wedding and I know it sounds awful but I would rather be at the CHRR! To top it off the 7th is my birthday. Tip one back for me on Saturday huh guys!

 

I'll be there with my rusty bucket o' glory. Also my pop will be running in Jr. Fuel B so I'll be running around the starting lines like a chicken with my head cut off. Stop by and see us, have a beer, just don't get the the way if we're tearing down the car. If a HAMB meet happens, I'd be game. FYI, we were ont he track about a month ago and it's ****ing ***s.

The ****** Caligula will be at the Viper's Pit 10 am Saturday in memory of Groundshaker Mike Demarest. I make 'em 'til I've had two, then the deal is over after I make my third. (hic)
