I've always thought I was a Chevy guy, but I've owned every brand that GM has made, Fords, Plymouth and Willys/AMC as well as a few off shore vehicles from Europe and Asia. I have definitely owned more Chevies than any other brand and favor them for performance mods!

I started out in Fords, went to GM, had Chevys, Pontiacs, and a Buick, but two S10’s sent me back to Fords. Also have dabbled with Jeeps, MoPars, VW’s, and Toyotas, but always came back to Ford. Newest Ford is 05, doubt I’ll ever buy one newer than that with all the problems they have now. Had good and bad in all of them. Even though I lean Ford, I wouldn’t turn down a GM if I liked it, like a Nova or Chevelle. Right now I own three Fords, a Lincoln, and a Jeep.

  4. I’ve had all of the Big 3, but prefer Fords and Chevrolets. I have two old Ford pickups, one old Chevy pickup and one new Chevrolet pickup. My favorite engine of all time is the Small Block Chevrolet, and also have a very soft spot for old Ford Pickups. Truthfully, it boils down to cost and availability, which is why I’ve had a bunch of old Ford Pickups. I also prefer Harley Davidsons. At work, I repair everything half ton up to class 8 trucks, but specialize in light duty Fords, Internationals, and Cummins Engines. Really, I’m just mechanically confused.

If you ask anyone who has ever met me I’m pretty much of an a**hole. But if you ask anyone who knows me I’m the guy who give you the shirt off my back and any part you may need no questions asked. I loaned many parts to guys wanting to beat me and glad to do it because it takes more then just a part….you need the passion of what you are doing….

I'm an old car guy. I love those old body styles of the mid 30s up to the modern era when a body style started hanging around for 5 or 6 years (though some of the late 50s cars were a bit gaudy). I was trained on the operation of the early-mid 90s tech, so I like that era drivetrains in the old bodies, HAMB friendly or not.

There isn't much from this century's production vehicles that excites me, or interests me very much. We bought a 2004 model in 2005 out of necessity, and its still here and used daily, but I'm hoping it is the last "vehicle of this century" I own. That was about the time the bean counters took over the auto industry, development after that were mainly based on cost cutting rather then vehicle improvement.

I was a mechanic for several auto shops over the years before 1994. I've discovered that some brands work better for some guys then any other brands. If a guy has something that works better for himself, it would make sense to stick with that brand. On the other hand, my sisters husband says he is a Ford guy. The last 4 Fords he has owned (all this century vehicles) have spent large amounts of time in shops getting fixed. Were I in his shoes, I might consider a different brand, but he is in love with his Fords.

The brand that has seemed to work the best for me has been from the older Mopar line.

Non-denominational here, I have had vehicles from Gremlins to Roadrunners, Task Force pickups to '55-'56 Fords, with some Pontiacs to start out with. I just plain like cars and pickups, and always have.

  11. I guess I'm a Ford guy, but really, like others have said, I'm a "car guy". I talk a lot of smack about other guys cars, GM, Mopar or whatever, but it's all meant in fun and I take as much as I give. Most car guys are great (regardless of their loyalties) and I'll have a beer with most any of 'em.

  13. I'm a Chevy guy. But I do have a Rambler and a '75 F100 4x4. I try to wear a Chevy t shirt when I drive the Ford just to annoy the blue oval boys that always want to chat at the gas station.

  14. When I bought my 57 Chevy I pulled up to the guy's place in a Plymouth wearing a Ford shirt. That about sums it up.

I like all cars too much to exclude any. But '57 Chevys are my favorite.

I'm the kind of guy can look at vehicles from any manufacturer or builder and be equally amazed by the thought, or lack of it, that went into them.

  20. ..I've had a few of those that had the lack of thought built in.

Upon reviewing the situation, I realize that I've never owned a Chevy. The closest being a Canadian Pontiac powered by Chevy. Why do my cars keep getting those engines?

  26. Yeah... I'm an 'old machinery' kind of guy. Cars, tractors, equipment. You name it, if it's old, I'm fascinated by it.
Talking specifically cars... my family and friends would say I'm a Ford guy. Certainly my vehicle ownership supports this as they've mainly always been Ford. But I just bought a 50 Chevy, and my favourite motor family is the 303/324 Oldsmobile. Have a soft spot for Pontiac's (my first car was a 69 Poncho), so...
If I like it, I don't really care what brand it is.

I lean towards Ford, as I've owned several Ford Model A's,'52-'54 Ford cars, and '56 Ford F-100's, but I think other makes and models, foreign and domestic, are cool, and I have owned several, and plan to own more.

Fast answer, i'm and old car guy.
Hard to pick a brand, I got both Chevy Buick and Cadillac, and a 20+ year old japanese for winter salt slush.
Would be glad to own like a A Ford roadster or a 32 also, I like alot of cars
If I were living in a country with decent climate I wouldnt own a car newer than 72.
