I believe that piece rusted out on nearly every one of these cars. Nice job! Where did you get the radiator? It looks like a good fit.
Thanks Rock. It's just an ebay cheapie from china, meant to fit a 32 Ford - could be a couple inches taller but I didn't find another one that was that narrow, so it fits inside the rad surround. It's a little bigger than the one I used in the Hercules, and it works just fine.
Starting mods to the front fenders, eliminating the running boards for a more trim appearance, also need to round the front edge of the rear fenders and make a skinny rocker cover.
Amazing metal working skills and a vision of what flows and looks right . Thank You for sharing Your project
I have to agree, that is turning out really sharp! I just rolled under the rear of my basket case ‘40 and was surprised to see leaf springs and tube shocks. That should make it easy to swap drivetrains. Now to figure out what Chevrolet or other GM rear end will fit with the least amount of modifications.
Got busy scratch building a trunk lid - impossible to find an original, they were wood framed & heavy.. Had a set of original hinges and adapted a 36 sedan trunk latch, used a roof skin from a 2000 Lincoln but had to wheel it and do a lot of hammering to get the 'bubble' shape to resemble a stocker.. needs some more ironing out but its gettin' there.
Teardown time, major fab is done. Re***embled the cage to add tie ins to the front shock mounts and tabs for removeable door bars. inish welding on the frame to do, cleanup then painting the ch***is
