I am swapping out a 292 manual transmission with a 302 with AOD or C4 transmission. What type of oil pan (front or rear sump) do I need? Also what motor mounts and transmission mount do I need? Are there off the shelf headers that will fit without modification? I have heard that the 52-59 Ford social group has a wealth of knowledge on this topic but I can't figure out how to join it. I have clicked on the link that others have posted and either an error comes up or there is no info on joining. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
When I click on that link it comes up error, you do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.

Great info on it. Many have done it…front sump if stock suspension. I’ve heard Lincoln cast iron exhaust manifolds work good. Some like AOD’s some don’t. Good luck.
This is just about the most simple motor up-grade there is. C-4 and the right rubber mount and it's a direct bolt up. A.O.D. not so much but still very simple (at least for me). Motor mount kit? Just Bill-Jerone, all it takes is a piece of round and square tube and a little time. Basic 101 nothing to it fab job. Here's a couple photo's to get you started.
Front sump on a '54. There is a set of Hedman headers that fit as well. @JeffB2 will have the part number as well as lots of other good info.

Thank you all for the info. Hopefully I will be able to join the social group and get more info. It has been over 40 years since I worked on old cars much with the exception of mods to my 66 Mustang over the years.
Time doesn't change where the Nutz-n-Boltz go. Pending your past hands-on work and your memory I suspect it will come back. The actual motor swap is so simple you'll laugh at the end of it. My guess is doing the 6-V to 12-V conversion will be the challenge. Just seems to be that way for most weekend car guys. It's not really that big a deal either.
