    Hello Everyone,
New member here. A few years ago I was gifted my grandfather’s 1965, F250 from his second wife. Interesting story, it was gifted to him by his father-in-law who bought it brand new. The truck is a San Jose truck and never left the state or Northern California. It has a 352fe with a T85N-1A three speed on the tree transmission and a R11-1W OD. This is not the transmission that came from the factory and also maybe not the same motor as grandpa put anything he could in it if something needed to be replaced. Sadly he has been gone for years so we are not sure why he parked it. When I first got it, I installed a new fuel pump, carb and intake manifold along with distributor, plugs etc. It did turn over and run for a bit as long as I was giving her fuel in the carb. I suspected bad fuel lines years ago as to why it wouldn’t run from the tank. While running, it had some white smoke coming out of the passenger tailpipe. It was at night so might not actually be white as it was cold and hard to tell. Maybe just moisture from sitting so long. No color or any sort out of the drivers side. Coolant level has not dropped either. Due to money constraints at the time progress stalled. Now it is time to get back at it and look forward to sharing the build with this page and finding good help along the way! I also should add my first goal is just to get her running and stopping right so I can drive around town (I work in town), to and from work etc. I would like to keep her just like he had her. Not looking to make her go fast or anything remotely like that. Just a solid runner then work on the cosmetics.

  2. Welcome to the HAMB from Illinois.

That looks like a good project for a young father and son.

Thank you! My sixteen year old is just as excited as I am to work on her and he looks forward to getting behind the wheel as well.
