That’s been my problem all along! I love the look of the copper lines but I really want the fittings to be consistent, to the point where I’ve contoured the flare nuts for the 5/16 tube to match the flares for the 1/4… all that’s left are these damn connectors/adaptors/fittings!!! To go from the tubing (1/4 flare) into the carbs… it just needs to be the one fitting, I won’t go the route of adapt to this then this to get the job done… just need (1/2 20 to 1/4 45degree flare) - two of them!

Again... show a picture of the 5/16 flare fitting so I can see it. Here’s mine now screwed into a 97 carb so you can see that it fits

I understand that yours fits. Mine do not. Mine are all 5/16 45 degree flares as purchased from Lowe’s, Amazon and Ace hardware. I just happened to have this plug here at my desk, they are all the same, none of them fit.

Get yourself a thread gauge. Saves a lot of time and agony.

I’m now seeing that a number of sources are saying that the 5/16 flare fitting is indeed 1/2 20…. There must be something with the carb I have, I have to get a couple of 97’s anyway…. I’ just going to get some 1/4 flare to 5/16 flare reducers, they should do the job! Man, plumbing is frustrating!!! Thanks all for the help! Especially Moriarty, THANKS allot!!

I would go jic and use ni-copp for the “copper” look. I don’t care for copper on an engine. You get a lot of size choices with less or no adapters with jic fittings.

JIC isn’t period correct, if that wasn’t a concern, I would have gone AN….. that’s what I did on my Jeep with three DCOE’s
