  3. This is a perfect example of stance and wheels and tires making or breaking a car. It needs a major lowering. Slight tail dragged stance and white walls. Full caps or wires doesn't matter.

  4. Lower the car. Especially the rear.
    Has a hot rod rake.
Skinny WWs on the wires or big WWs with caps like sombreros.
Then look at some Watson paint jobs. Think grapevine.
    Lace and flake.

Roadmaster with a few of the things mentioned here......lighter blue, lowered, wheel covers and white walls.

Can someone photoshop some whitewalls…narrow- medium- and wide? Most Kustom cars look best with whitewalls.

There is no visible contrast--dark body, dark tires, and plenty of dark shadows in those spoked wheels.

Wide whites would help immensely IMHO.

Some tasty flames, white to yellow to orange will draw the eye away from that ocean of blue. Compliment the flames with some wide whites and spinners.....and lower it.

White walls and pin stripes would look killer

  11. That is a lot of blue… It might be a candidate for scallops, or a darker colour below the chrome strip and a laced white top. When I took a short trip on the internet, my eye was drawn to this- different car and stance, but it does cut through the sea of blue. 0FE2D98C-D344-41FB-8819-43E71598E03F.jpeg

  12. I'm in the thin white wall camp. With the wires. And maybe a mild drop in stance.

I vote for some bias ply Firestone DeLux Champion wide whitewalls, keep the wires, and possibly add the chrome trim in front of the rear wheel opening, below the moulding. Lowering the rear 2-3 inches wouldn't hurt anything either. JMO
Whatever you decide, it's still a beautiful car.

Since you asked... I would put on the 3/4" whitewalls. As mentioned, paint some on and see how it looks. If you like then go permanent. That is a beautiful car!!

Not to put too fine a point on it but the way it is right now, it looks like my grandfather's Buick with nice blue paint and spokes :(. I'm not a fan of wide whites either but adding them and bringing it down closer to the ground would help. In the end, it's your call. :)

lowered, 2 inch whites, and keep the wires if they are Skylark, also you did a great job on that car

  18. I think you would be amazed as others mention on how much changing to whitewalls will tone down the blue whether skinny whitewalls on the wires or wide whites with full caps. The blue just stands out more with the black walls and overpowers the overall look. And, very cool car you built as has also been mentioned multiple times.

I am liking everyones help on this. If someone could photoshop some wide and then narrow whitewalls on my photo it would be very helpful. I don't believe I can drop the back very much without some major suspension mods. Right now I have about 3" of travel before it bottoms out, but I will look into it more. The front has been clipped with cut coils, but I could get dropped spindles. @themoose

The wires with wide whites will look like "old man at a Buick meet" as we see all the time. @Pete Eastwood nailed it with that pic. The color is more 60s than earlier, so the narrow white is almost a must. I don't think a full drop is needed, just drag ass a small amount. The sedanette body already gives the illusion, and to see how much do it old school and drop 4 or 5 sandbags in the trunk. I'd bet 1" below level is near perfect. Fix it's tie and give it a carnation, ready for the ball.;)

  22. I'd stripe it similar to this, but all over it, adding red and white stripes, leaving blue stripes.

Here's a quick n' dirty 'shop of the wide whites and caps, added pale gold on the rockers, dropped maybe an inch in front and more in back.
Am I seeing what looks like tiger stripes/uneven coverage in the paint? If a total repaint is possible (or necessary), a lighter/less saturated/intense color might be better for a car this size, as demonstrated in the various photos others have posted so far.

    Can you still get Port-A-Walls?

Moon discs belong on land speed vehicles. And the snap-on ones look phony.
