I was on another thread where an early Corvette was mentioned and I thought ya'll might like to see this one, an original Fuelie with solid lift 265 and the original fuel injection that runs like a swiss watch, he just got back from taking it to Texas for some event (we're in Virginia). And, he hammers the piss out of it on the backroads between here and W.Virginia.
It’s a ‘Vette And a dang snazzy one at that , the fact he drives the pizz outta it makes it THAT much more SNAZZY
I forgot to mention that those are real magnesium knock-off wheels, not the modern lookalike wannabe.
It's geat to see guys who actually drive and enjoy thier cars on a regular basis rather than hide them away while worrying about their "value". I used to see a white Mercedes Gull wing leading a pack of vintage Mercedes on road trips when it passed the house or stopped for gas in town on an annual basis. It actually didn't look as nice as that Corvette but the well aged owner had a blast with it.
I was wondering about that myself and I must be wrong, that photo was from a few days ago and he told me about the engine quite some time ago.
OJ I'm curious about those wheels, could you ask the owner what size they are, are they freshly blasted with the outer rim cleaned up, (to me), those look like later aluminum K.O.'s. These are the ones the early factory Corvette racecars used, they had a much different profile on the rim.
These are an earlier version, article said they had cracking problems and were replaced by the ones in my prior post.
I'll ask him. I was not aware they were used on the Corvette, he is a road race guy and pretty well connected. I always wondered what motivated him to go that route, I actually loaned him a set of SoCal KO hubs I had to see if they'd work and I never asked the story of where these came from. It'll be a good excuse to get mine back, he can be a bit of a black hole.
