Thanks again all. It appears that the grinding issue has been solved by three things; fitting a Hurst SynchroLoc, clearancing the shift levers and adjusting the clutch to 40 thou release gap.

On their own none of these things solved the issue but putting them all together has made a vast difference.

Was really good to have a variety of suggestions and experience applied to the problem
