Does anyone know if a whip style (1960's) radio antenna can be replaced with the modern Shark Fin style antenna ? (whats involved ?) I will be using a aftermarket radio with a CD player like a Pioneer unit.

Modern car antennas are often cabled with RG-174 coax, and are terminated with a Molex Fakra connector.

The antenna whip connection would be male.

You might need an adapter, or adapters to get everything connected, along with an antenna cable.

Keep in mind that many shark fin antennas are amplified, so you would need to run an accessory lead, or antenna/amplifier power lead to it.

All of the cables and adapters are on Amazon.
