The "Heaven Pacers" ran this Fiat bodied altered around the Northern California area. Before the drags would start on Sunday, they conducted religious services. Posted by @296ardun on Facebook.

    No spare wheel cut out.

Is that a Simca or Fiat factory deal? Topos are pretty rare down this corner of the South Pacific, so we dont have many to compare to.

    Thanks.

Sorry, no pics. I came close back in the 70's. Went to look at a 37 Topo. It had a 292 Chevy six in it. Came back a couple days later with the cash. The guy apologized, his nephew got so upset when he found out he was selling it, and he wanted to keep it in the family, he gave it to him. Never saw it again, probably sitting out behind the barn still?

In the first post of this thread showing the famous Magic Muffler bottom end explosion at Lions Dragstrip in 1965. The person in the lower left corner of the picture is somewhat a friend of mine.
Him and his best friend and their wives moved out to California from a small town in southeatern Nebraska to live in the car-hot rod-racing scene. They enjoyed it for several years and then decided to go back to Nebraska to raise their kids. I met him a few years ago at a small town cars and coffee. I just loved hearing his stories.
