61D3369E-7329-4374-BAA5-70FE89481ACF.jpeg I’ve heard old Snap On boxes are kinda collectible, so I would think there would be some aftermarket and original parts available. I have a Snap-On box I bought used right after highschool. I believe it’s from the early to mid 60’s. Anyway one of the drawer slides has been bent for years, making that drawer a PIA to open or close. I have a nice newer roll around chest, but I still use this one too, so would like to find new drawer rails if possible.
Anyone know a source? Unbelievably I could find none online.
    Thanks

Part # is discontinued but has a supersede 8-257. That is available on snapon.com although not currently in stock

  3. If 8-257 is the new part number eBay has a pair of used ones to me they seem a bit over priced but If you love the toolbox I guess it isn't really that bad of a price if you're looking to flip it I wouldn't buy them.

Thanks guys! I just ordered a set off of EBay that you listed. I should have done this years ago, but never got around to it. :)

  5. I loved my late 1950s snap-on toolbox I just unfortunately outgrew it.
Hopefully snap-on is correct and that is the right part number to fit your box.

It looks similar in the picture, and yeah it’s pricey, but tired of fighting that drawer every time I go in it. I made sure the seller took returns before I ordered.
Yeah I outgrew mine too. I bought a new Snap On chest a few years back that’s bigger than my old top box and chest put together. I really need all the boxes for the tools I’ve ac***ulated over the years.

Dad's Cornwell bottom and Snap-On top box got me a start and are now my home tool boxes. Funny that he and I were on the same level in the profession except he only needed half the tools I did. His heavy line work was more indepth than mine as far as head work. His employer had a valve grinder and did head work in-house as most shops did then. Dad wrenched in the 70's, I did 96' through 2013'.

His old Snap-On box has those same guides.
