Interesting cars, they seem to be a mix of american and european designs. I really dig that "RAJ", I think it says. Some of those little ones would be good g***er fodder. Might be interesting to have russian gauges in your hotrod too... talk about something different...
way ahead of you. its a clock out of a mig. you wind it up and its good for 5 days. its going on my stude pickup.
Looks like that **** really gets rusty. I wouldn't mind having one of these grilles? Looks like a caddy, but I don't think it is. And that russian babe is pretty smokin'!
Check out the junk in the trunk, and look at all those car parts in the cars trunk Very cool, nice looking babooshka.
Yes, it's a Volga. Gaz 21 Volga, to be exact. Most of the Russian cars from that era are more/less copies of American cars actually. Well, at least GAZ ones. Gaz 13 Tchaika is pretty much Cadillac. Moskvitch 401 is exact copy of Opel Olympia. LADA 2101 is FIAT, ZAZ 965 is also from FIAT. GAZ 13 Tchaika: Moskvitch 401: LADA (VAZ) 2101: My friend is customizing one Moskvitch 401, this is his, still much to do. For soem reason, I can't post the pic here, so I give You a link: http://gallery.blastnet.ee/main.php?g2_itemId=252198 It now have an Opel 2.0 with double Webers (vs very weak original mill). Uh, there were two very cool custom Moskvitches from Finland too, but I can't find the pictures now. At***udor, I think You should know 'em: Markku Tuunasen custom 407 and some guy's Moskvitch 401 project named RatPack.
Thanks for the info. Who actually built them? GAZ (for example) just copying American cars or were they actually exported and rebadged? Mr Von Zipper, I have a new addition to my favorites list
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Years ago I bought a 1/32 Russian car at a swap. Never did know what it was/is (all in Russian, you see...). It's a LADA 2101!!! My life is complete. Cosmo
Where's the US on that globe hood ornament on the taurus? I thought we were in the middle of the map.
I have two of them 1947 Pobeda,s. Cool cars with a flathead jeep engine. GAZ was built under liscence from FORD. they started in '28 with the model A.
