    hello,,
i picked this up about a week and a half ago from 'CedarSpeed' here on the HAMB, but didnt really see no point posting pics until i actualy did something to it ....so i chopped it:D

i was trying to avoid that EXTREME chop look ,,i know alot of people like that look,,but i wanted it to still have that 'coupe' look to it,,so i decided to chop it 8 1/4 " ,, also ,,i decided against the mailslot rear window, so before doing the chop i raised the rear window and dropped it both an inch,,still need to finish up inside garnish moldings..

just ordered the patch panels for the doors...its pretty solid
does anyone know how to tell difference between 26 and 27??

a lot of guys will build a chassis
    and patch the body
    making everything solid first

glad to see a nice chop as the first move
it sets the mood for the entire build

  5. 13" Daytons & skinny whites are going to look good on that coupe. :p

Nice chop Sam, Cedarspeed sent me a lot of pics of that body ( I was considering grabbing it myself) looks like a very solid start!

How about painting it with the color scheme you had on the 56??

Sammy, nice restraint on the chop. I think you did the right thing. What are your plans for it. Over the years that style hotrod has really grown on me.

Nice chop! I'm not a fan of the mail slot windows, normally.

Now about the paint and wheels on that Chevy in the background....

  13. Sam,

Keep us posted on this one. You're bad about waiting 'till a project is done before showing pics. :)

A T coupe is in my "Top 5". I'd love to be able to watch as yours comes together.

to awnser your origional question about telling the difference between a '26 and '27. I was told it had to do with the amount of wood vs. metal supporting in the body, mainly around the rear window. A '26 would be wood where a '27 would be metal. I have no way of confirming this.

The chop looks good as well.

You must be livin right as well Sammy cause you dont have to post a wante ad for a decklid.Man how many of these cars do ya see cause of the war time deal where everybody thru their decklid away and made it in to a pickup truck.I wish I had a dollar for every coupe and roadster I have seen missin a decklid.

I like how you kept the back window a little bigger.

My thoughts exactly! One of these days someone's going to find a warehouse full of Model A and T decklids, and 32-34 pickup doors:D

    The T looks great Sam.

I hope you can see the differance in this pic. A 26 has a wooden frame around the rear window.

FYI the 26 coupe also has a flat floor panel under the seat where the 27 has an beaded reinforcement. X pattern as I remember. Great chop! Gives me some courage.
