Sure....but you only get one pair of painted steel wheels, the others are aluminum!

  12.
personally I hate hubcaps and especially hate full wheel covers all I can think of is some Old Fart puttering down the road because he is afraid them flying off the wheels at highway speeds. A friend of mine had to repaint the quarter panel and fender skirt on his 53 Ford custom when the left front Lancer cap came off ricocheted curb and hit the side of the car and left a 5" long scratch.
Not my friend's car.

What size tires on the 5.5s?

I sent a bunch of steelies out to the blaster figuring I would repair my 16x5s and maybe hang onto a good pair of 4.5s. Your wheels look good so maybe I will send the 4.5s on their way and stick with the 5s.

    Hello,

When I went looking for my first real car paid for with my own saved up money, I had plenty of choices. I was influenced by a custom Ford f100 truck and wanted one ever since elementary school. But, for high school activities, a truck was for only two people and not much room for securing our goods in a locked area..

As a teenager sitting around the drive-in parking lot, the first time I saw the 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery was late one night and it was the rumble of a great sounding motor that caught my attention. As the owner and friend cruised by everyone, it turned a lot of heads. Then as customary in the drive-in cruising scene, the sedan delivery made an exit and as he went down the street, we all heard the big motor sound of acceleration.

Then he came back to the parking lot and we all gathered to see what was in the odd looking sedan delivery. No one had ever seen one before as a hot rod, only delivering milk, a plumber, or a business car delivering groceries or dry cleaning.

The first sight was an orangish color and black painted rims with a small center hubcap. It looked mean and sounded outstanding. The color was a tint of orange and red, leaning closer to orange. But as we found out, the owner had just finished painting it the previous night, late… so, it looked orange, but in the parking lot lights, a light pinkish color.

As more people saw the sedan delivery, the more people guessed at the color. The final color was spreading fast and the owner kept saying it was a “racer orange.” Most teens were calling it “Salmon Pink.” So, by the time we saw it again next week, he had a for sale sign on it. But, to accentuate the “Racer Orange” color, he took off the small center hubcap and now, it was all black painted rims on blackwall tires, in contrast to the color of the sedan delivery. He: racer orange… everyone else: Salmon Pink…

No one wanted to buy the sedan delivery, although it was a very cool, powerful hot rod with the 348 Chevy motor and a single 4 barrel carb. We estimated 250 hp and in this lightweight sedan delivery, had to be fast.

I wanted it for my new surf adventures all over So Cal surf spots. Then a daily drive to school and cruising the local drive-in restaurant parking lots was a natural. Big motor, fast car and privacy in the back for camping and overnights at the beach. It was an all-around great package. But, the cost the owner was asking was far beyond anyone could afford. Including me…

We went around for weeks and finally, he got tired of “Salmon Pink” and sold it to me with a Flathead motor for a lot less than he was asking, even with all black rims. He threw in the small hubcaps and we moved on from there.

    Note:

After many years of reliable cruising all over So Cal coastal beaches, I had added chrome beauty trim rings to give it some extra flash. I wanted American Mag 5 spokes, but that was like asking for a gold mine. I was happy with black rims and small hubcaps with the trim rings.

Was it reliable? Is the ocean blue on sunny days? Was I a happy teenage surfer in So Cal? The all black rims made the sedan delivery have a “mean look.” But, with chrome center hubcaps and chrome trim rings, it looked like a nice custom hot rod, not a milk man or plumber’s ride. YRMV
