In need of a 35-36 5w coupe measured reference.
Attempting to establish this replacement b piller. Need measurement pulled 1in below jamb bumper pad (hooking the inside step as shown) to the opposite b pillar step 1" below same point. Unfortunately my p***enger side is not much help as its floating. Thank you for reading. 20230712_173442.jpg 20230712_173430.jpg 20230712_173537.jpg 20230712_194407.jpg

    Yesser...please

And if I were pushing my luck a bit. I'd ask about the inside A pillar measurement from right to left (as shown)

Sorry for the delay. On my 36 measuring the A pillar below the dash inside at the tack strip at the beltline=43 1/4"
B pillar inside tack strip to tack strip at the beltline 53 3/8", at the floor level 6 " up [tunnel height] 53 3/8" tack strip to tack strip. My car had the floor replaced and some work to the door jambs but all back to factory specs or as close as possible. Hope that helps. Hotrod

Looks like I need to rebuild my A pillars. The inner face that ****s to the door. It's rotted and rippled.
Looking for a front on and side shot of both top and bottom hinge points to use as a reference. Also....being without hinges...could someone p*** me the height of the (A piller side hinge) so I can ensure to get the p***ageway right.
    Thanks 20230716_104252.jpg 20230716_104303.jpg 20230716_104319.jpg 20230716_104327.jpg Thanks

Looks like a M***achusetts car, uggh! But so much fun fabricating and welding it back together. Good luck and keep us in the loop

Does anyone happen to have a shot of how the a pillar relates to the positioning of the rockers? I'm looking for something to guide me in fabbing the cowl feet and I have to rebuild the a piller and needing to determine if that pillar structure extends down lower that the top of the framerail. My car is a little rough to determine this.

Appreciate the kind words. I'm in over my head on this one but hopefully too stupid to quit. Forced learning!

Try the EMS website they may have a diagram and/or stampings. The Wescott website had a drawing of the frame dimensions as well as the body drawing if I recall. Let me know if I can help. Hotrod

20230726_201648.jpg Moving right along with these diy a pillars. Still could use some reference pics to see where it fits relative to the frame. Offset from the frame. Frame bolt location from the a pillar

Kinda stuck at the moment.... by going off the original I thought there was a jog on the original a pillar so I put one in the replacement one I'm fabbing up (see pics). I'm not sure if it needs to be there Or if this side remains flat....thus creating a pocket the hinge slips into....pretty sure the piller hinge piece slips in a slot vs surface mount....but I have yet to confirm that. Any pic references to 35-36 hinge areas would be appreciated. Looking at the drivers side....it appears there's a slot positioned on the jamb step and I also see no indication of a deliberate step pressed into the aft side surface of the a pillar...pics below of the d side.

Finally pulled together enough info (thanks HAMB) to attempt to square up this heap. Next is the cutting and welding and fab...looking forward it.
