Technical Packard 440 radio interference

    just found this post-we have to use the raceceiver at our tracks and the vertex mag in my sprint car puts out so much interferance to make it unusable! Raceceive knows of the problem and has no answer

    Any resistance introduced into the high voltage circuit for noise suppression will cut spark plug current and that is NOT desirable. Sometimes a metal shield around the mag and wires will help but that usually interferes with rapid service at races. Maybe try mounting the radio itself down low behind the fuel tank.

    As long as you have people in administrative positions that do not understand technical subjects, you are going to have this type of problem.
    These people need to go to a track that does not use line up radios and see how it is done.
