I'm just curious if anyone else have been waiting a long time for a V8 steel belled quick change rear from Winters. I have a customer in Australia that had me order his rear 5 months ago. I can't be the only shop waiting this long. I have others wanting a rear but am hesitant to take their order. Frustrating!

I thought everybody ordered their Winters rear ends through you. If you don’t know, nobody knows. ;)

I ordered one through Summit about a year ago, and it took a couple months for it to arrive due to back-orders. I assume at least some of the delay were leftover covid issues that seemed to affect pretty much every vendor.

What does Winters have to say? They are on the HAMB, and I tagged them below.

  5. They could be having a run of local Sprint Car rears needing repaired. I am sure they are having the same problem with having enough bodies to do the work.
I would bet they are still trying to catch up to the preseason work. And now they are in the middle of the season with a minimum of 4, 410 Sprint Car tracks with in 50 miles of them. I waited months for mine during covid and I live near them.

Connected with Chris at Winters and everything is cleared up. The 5 month rear has actually been done for a while but was done incorrectly and is now getting corrected. He assured me that new orders will be back to 8-10 week delivery?

  10. Thanks for tagging @Ebbsspeed. As Gary said, he shot us a message earlier and we got him squared away with the info he needed. There are a number of factors that affect lead times, ranging from labor to vendor lead times on raw materials, castings, etc. Earlier this year we were struggling to get axle blanks from our forge, but we’ve solved that. And thankfully we’ve got a solid team in our assembly department, and we are indeed getting caught up on hot rod rear ends. They’re at about an 8-week lead time right now. We’d love to cut that down further still, but that’s where things are now.

Appreciate everyone’s support and patience. We’re cranking out rears as fast as we can build them!

If you ever have a question about a rear on order (or any question at all), you can always hit us up at the number below or just shoot me a DM and I’ll be happy to help.
