Ok so whats up with my hardware stores ?? I called around today looking for a 1/4" Heim joint to do this cool throttle linkage idea I found on the web since my stock 62' one with the bent rod blows. and well.. NOTHING, they acted like I was speaking another language.. so do I have to buy these online or does someone know of a hardware store open tomorrow that carries these ?? Here's the link to the page, pretty cool Idea I think.. Let me know if you guys have something better. Thanks Anthony http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2004/08/ThrottleLinkage/index.php
Not really a general hardware store item. Check with bearing supply places and tractor and equipment dealers...common stuff there.
My ace hardware carries a good selection. Also check with your local off road supplier. Super Duty Headquarters here in mesa carries a great selection of them.
Hi Anthony, For small quantities, McMaster Carr can't be beat! But if you find yourself needing more, here is a great source I use: http://www.midwestcontrol.com/ Take care, David
Thanks Scott, called Motion Industries and looks like they might have to order my size but said its no uncommon for them so shouldn't be a problem. Appreciate the help guys. Anthony
Jethro , just this morning I couldn’t find a Hemi joint anywhere locally. I googled it and the Hamb showed and saw your reply about bearing supply. I found it at a bearing supply place right in my hometown. I was embarrassed, I’ve bought stuff there before, didn’t gave the place a thought about the heim / spherical rod end. Of course all he had was a left hand thread but he ordered me a right one. Thanks so much for your tip. Appreciate it!
No trouble , happy to help! Now if I could go back to 2008 , my hearing was better , my back didn't hurt , the world was a kinder gentler place......oh the good old days.
I saw one of my 2008 posts quoted recently. This is something a FNG falls into when doing a search on here.
I got mine at Speedway motors, but found at latter if you have a place in town that sells bearings they will generally have the rod ends also. Jokes on me I just saw where this thread is 15 years old. maybe my reply will help someone in the future.HRP
