Art & Inspiration Was Ford colorblind in '39?

    Personally I don't care for that color on early Fords. I do know there are people that like it, but to me any kind of gray on a hot rod just "lays there like a yard dog"

    Although the color gray is commonly ***ociated with cooler, cloudy days, there are both “cool grays” and “warm grays.” Cool grays have more blue undertones, while warm grays are grounded in yellow and brown — similar to “greige,” a combination of gray and beige.

  3. I guess mine is "Tropical Green" although in the right light it almost looks black.

    Think of a guy or gal with a degree in English Lit going to work for one of the big three, gets stuck in a cubicle with a bunch of color swatches and is told to come up with some emotive descriptors for the 1939 product line. Somber colors for somber times. That is a beautiful palette for the zeitgeist of the age.
