So, I have gotten the point where I want to get the hood on it. I have an excellent condition original hood that I have placed on the car. It does not fit at all. The body is low, rad high about an inch and rad is about 1 inch to the passenger side.

Is this typical ? and how do I go about fixing this? shim the body up ? The rad sits on 1/4 rubber pad with the spring/bolt, remove the pad?
I have X measured the cowl to rad and it is off, but there is not much allowance moving it left/right.

What are your thoughts ? High back bucket seats don't look good in a coupe.

My body is a little out of square, could yours possibly be? And is your mounted squarely on the frame?
I plan on taking off my body putting it on a flat surface and squaring it up. My floor is out though so hopefully it won’t be too involved.

Rustridden31, thanks for the comments. I did almost completely rebuild the floor of the body and some of the metal around the rear most mounting holes. I am pretty sure that the body is on modern frame pretty squarely. All holes in the frame have nut serts installed by the manufacturer and those original holes in the body did line up when I put the body back this chassis. So I am thinking the difference the space between the top of the frame and the bottom of the body. This car is without the fiber web/belt material as well as the running board/fender sheet metal. Those things will move the body up 1/4 to 5/16 and that will help with respect to the rad/cowl currently being to high. fixing the left to right offset will be a challenge. Might just abandon the idea of having a hood on it.

Ya, flat work surface to work the body is a good idea, all that I have is the frame itself.
