Hey guy's , went to a really cool show today so thought I'd share some pic's . Held in the centre of Bury St Edmunds (Just down the road from Lakenheath for you USAF types) it was an unusual venue with the historic Abbey Gardens , Cathedral , and Angel Hotel as a backdrop , organised by the guys at Krazy Horse Kustom Motorcycles . So a good mix of cars and bikes to look over . Anyhow , enough guff , here's the pic's , hope you like 'em ...
Ratty, Glad we linked up - my last do over here before I head back. Amazing turnout for this - too bad it's a one-off. Wish I'd made it to the party the night before...
Cheers guy's , real good to see you too Ernie , gonna miss you when you head home Evel , that gorgeous '32 is owned by Jim Turnbull (Bigjunglejim on here I think ?) , runs a blown injected Motor City Flathead , and ran a 12.7 at over 130mph at the UK NSRA Hot Rod Drags last weekend . Awesome car Here's a couple more ...
Don't let Jim hear you say that - it's candy Apple Red - looks a mile deep & pics really don't do it justice! Ratty, I think his speed was 109-ish - if he was turning 130, he'd be in the 9s!! ;D He posted it somewhere... Good afternoon out - local to me & got to see a few folks I wouldn't have otherwise. Good to shake hands, have a beer, & say goodbye.
Well, you,re not alone Ratty. I thought I saw 130 flash up on the SCR timing boards too. Apparently, they lie. Now there,s a thing..........
That was his first 12, a 12.9 I think, Scottie. That was me in the coupe making up the numbers! I filmed that run from inside my cab, I must get that uploaded.
Popped along to this as well - glad I did cos it was a cracking day. Sorry I didn't get to see you for long Ernie. Daughter in tow (well she was dragging me) and she was on a mission to get home. The party the night before was good too - sorry no pics of that. Or the dancing girls on the bar.... Anyway - the day was put on by the Crazy Horse shop - here's their "shop display" bike. Ruined a friends day by explaining what the vacuum gizmo on this '39 was - he'd been guessing for weeks:- organ pipes and Type 2's amongst the choppers - planty of variety Some fellow Sidewinders outa SoCol for the day... my little'un trying out Chris's modified - love the back drop of the abbey gates and finally these pictures brought to you by the combined gurning talents of me:- and Ratty:-
Cool pics! Any more pics of the '41 (?) Ford drag car? Did you notice the flamed '48 sedan has an extra grille bar? Wierd. Looks like they moved the whole bumper and splash pan down to make it look lower...
Cheers for that Phil , owe ya one A.S. No more pic's of Goldrush (The '41) from the day , this any good for ya though ?
cool pics. I was over in jully for the nats, and i saw a lot of those cars you posted here over there. I really love them all. this is my favorite, pinstriped by Melissa Gee (correct me if i am wrong) But one quistion, why das the VW Bug have fenders. I cant remember seen fenders on it before (I will have to look at my pics from the nats). What are the rules about fenders in the UK
the volksrod usually runs fenders he takes them off for most shows. it was a good day,bit disapointed on some of the cars and was hoping to see goardie pauls truck.
Yep , that truck is owned by Melissa's other half , Mark . Dunno why the bug was wearing fenders that day , the law in the UK is a bit fuzzy on them . You can pass your annual inspection (MOT test) without them , but Construction & Use Regs say you need them , so it comes down to how much of a Nazi the copper who pulls you wants to be ;-)
brootal...the stripping on the black 47 is unreal...it has stripes in stripes and also stripes that are shadowed to make them look curved and shadowed where they cross aswell as fading from one colour to another....and it's the first striping the guy had ever done..
Haha , from what I know that Indian has been like that for decades , owned by a real character by the name of Chris Ireland (aka Desperate Dan) , been on the scene from before god was a boy . Checkout his website at http://chrisireland.co.uk/Intro.html , interesting stuff This pic in no way does it justice , but here's some more of that striping , look carefully and you'll see that the numberplate is actually airbrushed on , not bolted ...
not bad like the gold rush car . us british folks can build as good a hot rod as you yanks can yes /?/??/??/ hahahahahah. but just not as many pubs thats what i miss. realy goo pics man.
