    I recently picked up a 54 customline with a 312 and a c4.
The ****** has a Y block bellhousing. Can this bell housing be used for an AOD install? Or will I need an adapter to run the AOD.

    Any info is appreciated.

The adapters for a C4 to a YBlock that I have seen have a new bellhousing specifically made for the conversion. Won't work with an AOD.

Here is the straight answer, I asked the Chat Tech to confirm, the only difference is in the flexplate see the notes. https://www.transdepot.net/Ford-Y-Block-to-AOD-Adapter_p_746.html

The Flat-O-Matic kit includes a replacement bellhousing, it does not use a flat adapter as shown above.

Yes, the Gene Benson kit sold as Flat-O-Matic has a custom bell housing, flexplate, crankshaft adapter, and a starter nose with a new bendix. Here are some photos of a C-4 with a 292 installed using one of Gene's kits. Like has been said, a C-4 has a separate bell housing, AOD has a one piece case with bell housing cast on, not removeable. 223400948_4260949143962231_8125775385373014118_n.jpg 219617042_4260949120628900_6875846900023448780_n.jpg 218917985_4260949147295564_1864555653868149413_n.jpg
