It’s looks like US wheel can take care of what I am looking for. I searched the hamb for some feedback on them. Anyone have any recent dealings?

scratch that. US is out of stock on chrome centers!

Black steelies would make that car look sinister.

For some reason, the popularity of four bar front ends in the seventies and eighties really makes it hard for me to picture them as an older, more traditional style. Don’t know why, just my brain. Once you add the visible disc brakes and game…set…match. To me the car just wants some real halibrand sprints (even the 80’s or early 2000’s ones would work) and some 7” sealed beam headlights.
What’s the interior look like? If it’s more post 1970, you may be opening a can of worms to get to the old ‘old school’ look you’re seeking.
Can always just put some black steel wheels on it and see if that look works. Wheels is an easy swap and you can usually recap a fair bit of the expense selling those shiney ones.:D:p:rolleyes:

Geez, finding a pic of a black 32 roadster with fenders and black steel wheels on the web took a bit, but here’s a visual aid for the black rims concept. Dressed up with caps and rings might give it enough bling for you (ie your chrome idea) and still get more of the style you seem to be seeking so you can ditch those shiney wheels asap.
    Works for me. ;)

Happy to see that. I was tempted to post early on but held back. Not a fan of mags on hot rods- my thoughts are hot rods have steel wheels ( or OG style wires) and street rods have mag wheels. I do have a set of Cragar S/S on my 62 Valiant, fitted them after our 1966 hot rodders tour of the US and I was the first bloke in town with mags! All our hot rods run black steel wheels except for the wife's 33-5 which has cream wheels which is how it was when she bought. So what color will your wheels be Little AH?

  20. Steel 50 Merc wheels and hubcaps will really make the roadster look better.

The caps and rings really seem to make the chrome 4-bars disappear on that one.
