Event Coverage 75th Bonneville Speedweek 2023

For those about to rock, we salute you.

 

They are just running the short course and have had three bikes qualify to run for records. the slower bikes are turning out after the 2 mile and getting a time.

 

That's showin off Hollywood-East. Us poor folk have to take photos of the computer or TV screen

 

Heading up to the line now...
First run since Buddy built it...

 

Water is deep! Races started after 10am. 5mph speeds on salt road in and out. No spectators at or near starting line. Pits or past the pits only. Pits had water everywhere as did past the pits. Racers are doing the best they can. There was a little breeze which made sitting in the roadster pickup fairly nice til the sun moved enough to get ya from the side. Water was deeper at the end of the road when we left than when we got there. I had 2 first timers with me so we hung it out for the day and will head home tomorrow.

Well. We waited in line for a hour an a half...
To be told not going to be able to run do to time....
Would have been nice to at least cut people off at a certain time ....

Reports on Instagram are that there was rain in town and at the bend last night, but the track is dry this morning!
