Well day started great and ended better got the cowl patches and the shit off and the other one of Dons panels on, then it got fucking fun, we started in on the chop.. got a little wild but I’m gonna add maybe an inch back in and lay the windshield down and make it more then a mock up but we ran outta steam today, it’s not everyone’s flavor but it is a rough tough Ford hotrod there’s no arguing that. Got a lot of love for the south Omaha car and the Pierson, Chrisman cars and their wild chops. Calling this one the nine pound hammer coupe. Jus like John Henry used to swing not for everyone only the baddest of the bad. hehe
Spent a little time talking with Austin and did this rendering of what it should look like with The chop finished and a hood etc. it’s hard for Some to “see it “ when it hasn’t gone back together yet gonna be awesome
@chryslerfan55 that’s what’s under the hood or are you talking about Austin not the car lol he’s got about 3 inches from his head to the roof
I've been watching on the insta. But obviously love longer format and more details. Thanks for tagging me! Definitely missed this.
@Hitchhiker really pretty ridiculous how fast they are getting stuff done. Can’t wait til he gets it back to his home shop. Gonna be like warp speed lol
Thought I’d share our first photo mock up and the last. With about a million different ones in between it’s kinda wild to see how close it’s landing to the first one!
Flipping through all the photos gives me some Hope on a couple stalled Dreams/Projects. The background of photos really cranks me up! F-100's, Sedans, Coups, Friends helping. That's what it's all about. Sadly, I've outlived all my friends that used to actually dive in and help (in return). Projects are all still here in one form or another. Must be time to get my Old Bones out and get back to work.
It really is what its all about! Really hitting this hard I bought the car end of june I want to say and have 5 actual days working on it, Really trying to make the end goal of takin it to the gathering at the Roc.
Looking great! Love the "heat it, beat it, weld it, make it go" style build. Thanks @Tim for pointing this one out.
@chryslerfan55 he talks about the flathead in the car in the first post or two. Got a neat connection
Its got a rebuilt 8RT out of my grandpas old 1952 firetruck bored .060,Johnson adjustable lifters, fenton race intake 2x2, and a set of cheap y headers. Think the old girl should run well enough for me, Id like a set of neat heads for it but figure ill get the car put together first.
Ill have some more Saturday/Sunday for everyone. think im gonna get rad bolted in and top welded and start shaping the windows
We got the windshield cut out and back in then started shaping the B and C pillars and ran out of welding gas darn it!
