It's of course common to have clearance problems for the tie rod when using a dropped axle. I have on several occasions heated and bent the steering arms dwon to create a little more room between the frame rail and the tie rod.. I would rather use a dropped tie rod end or maybe have someone fab a dropped tie rod(?) Any one know part numbers for dropped ends? I have seen them but not necessarily for early Ford. Thanks....Tim

Check Roadster Supply. Ray has them in stock and shows them on roadstersupply.com

I think these are what you want: Ford Pickup, 48-64. Speedway has them, as do others.

Roadster Supply ends are a few bucks more but include the jam nuts. I tend to support companies like Roadster Supply, a father/son operation.

Make sure you know what spindle you have. Very Important !!!
My spindles are Superbell units. I had to use dropped Superbell arms as they are the only thing that fit and could be used. I used 6inch dropped arm to put my tie rod just above the bottom bar of my 4 link

20230913_132250_HDR.jpg Thank you to all of your help/suggestions. As it turns out the tapers on the dropped tir rod ends are oppostie of what I needed. My tie rod sits on top of my steering arms and the ones available are all mounted from under the steering arm in order to "drop" the tie rod. If you installled them from the top it would raise the tie rod. I weighed all the options and chose to "drop" the tie rod itself. I did call Roadster supply and what you all show in the pics is all they have available. Options were: Heat steering arms/ reverse the taper/ dropped tie rod ends or drop the tie rod. Dropping the tie rod was the way I wanted to go.. It's working real well. Tim
