You are wondering about a big round GM HEI?

Yes Sir. Just installed a new one on my single 4 setup, but want to go 3x2 and didnt want to purchase another dist

  4. Can't imagine it fitting. Tight between the rear carb and the window on a normal dist.

Thanks guys. I knew you was bust my bubble :(
    But that's okay.
Last 3x2 setup I ran was 37 years ago in a 62 Falcon Pickup gasser with a 327.

None that I know of for a sbc. I've had 2, large base type and small base-neither would clear. Best bet is suck it up and buy a ready to run msd small head type-fits perfect and looks the part.

Not sure how stuck on trips you are but you can run 2x2, large base Rochesters and use one. You need to make the manifold like a Sam-O-Ram. I've made a bunch now. They don't run bad at all and the coolness factor is pretty high. I'm making one now with small base Rochesters for a 355. Will be a tad easier on the mild motor. Nicson made one in the '50's but extremely rare now. Samiyam may want to jump in here. This pic is one I use for a muse. Not sure who made it.

    Now that would be perfect.
And you are right about the cool factor. Wonder why no one still offers something like that

What valve covers are these? They don't look like the Mooneyes that are available these days

Get an original, rebuild it and run it. If you don't like/want points, change it to Pertronix. The big GM
HEI is a good unit, but is best on cars with a closed hood

They look like modified Edelbrock finned jobs...

  15. They started out as Edelbrock covers that someone drilled a breather hole right in the center of the script. Welded the holes, "milled" the center flat with a router, and added the breathers. I actually bought two sets of covers with butchered holes in one cover for cheap on eBay and used the unmolested covers on my '35.

Regardless of them being butchered, they certainly look cool from above. Thanks for the info

  17. I still wonder at not one; but two guys that thought it was a good idea to put a PCV valve/breather hole right in the middle of the script; same goes for the ones that make holes in Corvette rocker covers.

Years ago, stock car guys seemed to take a perverse pleasure in destroying Corvette valve covers that way.

  19. These covers someone put breathers on both sides, not sure the reasoning on that one either.
