Anybody know of a tool to restore the Inverted Flare inside a wheel cylinder or master cylinder?
    Thanks, Oj

Don't know of a tool to do this. I've repaired them by removing the threads on a fitting and using it, along with valve lapping compound, to lap the damaged IF.

I think he might be wanting to remachine the flare seats.

I wonder what threads that kit has? My guess is that it's for some modern metric bubble flare? I didn't find it in the description, but then I didn't read all there was to read, as none of it looked very technical.

Probably cheaper to buy a new wheel cylinder or master cylinder than to buy the tool.

If you're working on something that you can buy new parts for, that's true. If you're working on an oddball that is no longer available, not so easy to do.

  10. What about cutting the tube seat angle into a grinding stone (small one), inserting it into a piece of tube, then use a tube nut with the tube as a guide. You can't take off too much material as the nut on the new line might not have enough room to push on the backside of the line flare.

What about making or finding a small flare washer.

You can make a flared washer very easily by taking your soft, copper or aluminium, washer of an appropriate size and putting in your flaring tool and gently squishing it.

Koul Tools make a lapping tool for the 45-degree flared pipe end, and another tool for the 37-degree AN fitting end but don't think they make anything for the inverted flare seats.

I've seen an o'l coot using ''pop rivet'' heads (the bit/washer thingee that's left when you drill them out) for sealing washers, worked for him..
