I had Moose photoshop my car with the grill insert orange to match my wheels. Might just be a winter project. Thoughts ??
I'm partial to orange and think it looks good on a 32 grill insert, got a lot of comments when I said I was going to paint the wheels and grill insert Hugger Orange on the Mandrian Maroon coupe I was building. [
Looks well, but a comparison with a not painted, presumably shiny "before" pic would help. I have a keen interest in this comparison! Chris
I'm a fan of painted inserts, In my honest opinion we are not restorers and it just screams hot rod! HRP
I painted my grille insert on my '39 Chev coupe out of necessity. Since the grille pieces were all damaged at the bottom of the 3 halves I started with, I had to cut bars out of the one spare half I had, and cut them down to tig weld into the other two halves. Being welded, sanded, and repaired, I decided to just paint mine instead of hoping it might come out acceptable after chrome. Plus it was a huge savings in cost! I went a dark gray metallic Duplicolor mag wheel paint, and it's held up great to whatever might hit it so far. I like your grille insert painted to match the wheels. Ties the whole build together.
Im thinking about experimenting with some white reflective paint on wheels and grill shell like the billboards on the old Mopar's Fords
Completely changes the look of the car, in a good way. edit Shame I failed making a side by side pictorial comparison! Chris
