Here's a shot of my ol' 50, Uncle Chet, from a couple of weeks ago. We stopped at Jack Marinelli's house to pick up some guys and were headed to Douglass, Ks to the Hobo Happenings. The other photo is from a show a couple of weeks before that. I don't think I've posted any photo's of this car for awhile but I've had it 21 years.........

I already posted pics of my 1951 2dr that was a traditional custom not long after this thread was posted so I am adding 3 more to the list. These were my dads and was passed down to me after he died during Covid outbreak. The first one is a ‘51 Tudor that has been in the family since new, the second one is his ‘51 woody that is a multiple AACA Grand National, Senior Award and Dearborn award winner and was in the movie “Walk the Line”, and believe it or not there is a ‘50 Ford convertible buried under all that stuff that I need to finish up. Looks like all sorts of interesting parts including a shoebox left quarter panel.

PRO’s : Looks way cool , rids the engine compartment of heat and they are just cool.

CON’s: your engine will get wet unless you build a pan for underneath them. If your car sits long enough wasp will figure out the they can build BIG nest under it. And you will have the few say that you lose the integrity of the sheet metal and make the hood weak and flimsy. I say I love them and if you can get it done then do it

Son you have no idea how much stuff I have to build a shoebox. There’s at least 50 years worth of dad and I hitting swap meets and shows buying anything and everything shoebox!! Those bumpers that are hang above the car are just a small look at how many NOS sets that have already been rechromed. I honestly can say if I had 3 more cars including a woodie I could build them without leaving the house for parts.

Thanks for calling me son (I’m 73). What a treasure trove you have there. My “Ranchero” I finished last year is my last big project. I hope you have the time to use all those parts on some projects or kids who will carry on your passion. Good luck.

I probably will not be able to use all the stuff that I have but I’m going to try to!! What you see in that pic is just a scratch of what all we have here. I have 2 garages a shed and the attic space above the garage that are packed full. Trust me it’s overwhelming to say the least

Got a lot of work ahead of me but here she is. Blown apart after finding all the bondo . Motor is almost back together , carbureted 302 with stroker kit , c-4 rebuilt , interior done and stashed away , Louvered hood and my first attempt at painting and metal flake on dash . It’s getting skirts , different side moldings and my own take on taillights, static dropped as low as I can get it . I’m curious about the flipped back window any special reason ? I have to cut out and redo my sail panels and catwalk anyways . Thanks for looking . Louvers done by Chip here in Phoenix

I love the Crestliner and the next keeper I build will be one but the only problem is which one?!? I love both the 50 and 51 versions and I don’t really want to build a hybrid but I just might have to. That is a gorgeous car!!

Thank you lostin51. It was my high school car back in 1972. 6 lives later, it is at this point. What part of TN are you in?

Well, ain't that something. I am a born n bred Memphian from Frayser, which is now "The Hood".
I moved to Jackson in 2000 and then to Murfreesboro in 2005- each of those moves were a step up.

Beautiful! That looks lot better than my Crestliner! I think Ford made a mistake with the black side panels.
