    Trained as a toolmaker he originally worked for Delco Div. of GM before opening his own speed shop. A master craftsman and innovator he had the ability to do it all. Godspeed George.

    I worked with G***er magazine for a while, Got to talk with George for a minute...
    I've mentioned this in a thread year's ago...
    George was involved with the atomic bomb test out in the desert..
    He told me they tested him regularly..

    I built a model of the Willys as a kid. I have the kit, paint and decals. Maybe the time has come...

    There was a great tale of him transitioning from the little coupe to the Mustang. He had both at a match race. He took a ride in the Mustang, like night and day. He swore never to drive the little Willys after that day. It was a handful compared to the Mustang.

    The Mustang was, by some, was credited to be the end of the G***er era and the beginning of the Funny Car era.
