More awards made by me and drawn on by Alan Childers. Thinking that Alan is trying to tell me something after drawing a chopped 40 Merc coupe on two different awards this year... :D:cool:

    Hello,

Recently in reading all of the different topics here on the HAMB is interesting. It gives one a different look at people’s way of skill and ability to get things done. Some are serious and others are absolutely hilarious. But, as the old saying goes, “…it takes all kinds…” I have always wanted to be an artist, an athlete, continue surfing, write stories, and of course, fly planes/jets.

So, as goals go, some we are able to do and others, we just plod along, doing what we like. We have already expressed our teenage/20 something lifestyles with our adventures. The other part is growing up satisfied at what one is able to do with some practice, hard work and some skills involved.

Who would have ever thought that a 1941 Lincoln Continental would be a project to draw and detail as one sees the overall designs? The old, staid personalities that drove those big vehicles were beyond our expectations. We did not like them back then. With a few tweaks, can make them fairly different and nice as a design can get. Like them or not…

Opening up the back to create a pickup bed, a new design for the top/window views, (60 Chevy 4 door hardtop style) and for those that have to have skirts, but a lowered stance is mandatory to make the large vehicle have some attitude. Even modifying the long front end to make the proportions more of a pleasant design. At least it can be a modified custom car or a cool cruiser.

The same goes for sailboats. The older designs were made to try and harness the wind to move along. The premise was to go with the wind. Then as the designs were used to harness the direction of travel by moving the sails got developed, it opened up a whole new way to travel on the ocean, despite which way the wind was blowing. Then the overall sailboat designs morphed from floating logs to sleek racing style boats that cut through the ocean waves and make life exciting.

A mild, lowered rake adds emphasis to the design…

I was going to chop the top, but the knack of wearing tall cowboy hats and/or Dobbs Fedora hats inside while driving kept the top, a normal height. Plus, a chopped version looked out of proportion.

    Except this level of modification.

So goes experimental designs and a bunch of crumpled papers on the floor or wastebasket in the factory drawing room… “No one wants a car interior with a truck bed…” Ha! YRMV

This post in no way supports actual drinking and driving of any vehicle.
Drive sober, wear a seatbelt, if tired find a place to rest.

  11. @Moriarity , as I said in a previous FAS that you hosted, if we had any issues with you doing this we’d have disowned you by now.

For all those previous Rat Fink posts, here is a continental tire cover I did several years ago. RatFink.jpg

  14. A bit late this morning. I'm being pulled in two directions with work an prepping stuff for the "Jam'N Gears hot rod and custom car show in Omaha this weekend. here's some old stuff I've repurposed and made some smaller prints of for the show. I'm also doing some blue pencil sketches and letting go of some of the renderings form my sketchbooks but I'll post those later.

These are a few of the book marks/business cards I'll be handing out.

Just gotta say, I have done sketches in my past and am quite familiar with the pain of over working the dominant hand, while visioning the subject.
I applaud Jigger and his style, and certainly his drive at keeping us involved.
