Huh. Never heard of this show before. Are there any cool people there? Does everyone that goes bring a car? I heard sometimes some guy from Arkansas shows up without a car....is there any truth to that or just nasty rumors? LOL

I have heard about the guy from Arkansas. But, I am not sure about this show.

I met that guy from Arkansas at Indy last year and he didn’t have a car there. But neither did I.lol. Snowman ⛄️

This year the designated guy is from Arizona (I'll hide the Subaru around the corner).

I just have to watch out for that dang round-a-bout in the middle of nowhere in Kansas. Almost drove thru it last year on the way there at 5 AM.

 

I met the guy from Arkansas many years ago at the Sacramento Autorama Merc Gathering. No car there either? LOL!

Motor swap ongoing on the Volvo @TrailerTrashToo?

 

Rebuilt motor and a 5 speed overdrive swap. I am modestly skilled at stuffing 10 pounds of "stuff" into a 5 pound sack. This unibody Volvo is a 4 pound sack, the transmission did not slide into the driveshaft tunnel. I am about 90% reassembled - as usual, the last 10% takes 50% of the time. Both of my build threads got deleted, I will post a picture in a separate reply.

 

The engine/transmission is installed, with a custom driveshaft. All the other modifications to support this are slowly moving forward. Old age and family obligations have delayed the progress.

Looking good Russ. I knew you were a good bit of the way into it, but wasn't sure if you had it all going yet. Of course, I'm 3 years into a new engine on the Chevy (if I HAD a Chevy! LOL) and still chasing gremlins....that usually seem to pop up either in Dewey or on the trip there or back. LOL

 

I identify with the gremlin problem.

Host hotel parking lot, Lead Ain't Dead 2020. "You meet the best folks under your custom". For those that haven't heard the story, there was gasoline dripping off of the driveshaft.

The '56 is fine, I'm only going to be able to make it up on Saturday so Mike and I are going to come up in my pickup. We'll head for Dewey around 7:00 am and come back in the evening.

 

Well shucks, gonna miss you for the whole party. I was just thinking it was time for the Lead Ain't Dead what time should we leave and meet up text. LOL
